Going VIRAL - A Blessing or a Curse?

Going viral seems to be everyone's goal.  It's the one hit wonder of 2019, and many people have started actual careers out of simply one viral post or video.  Now I'm not here to show you how to go viral...if I knew that information, I would probably be on a boat in Italy instead of writing this blog post.  However, I do want to give you an inside scoop on how going viral can really make or break your career.

• You never know when it could happen.  Really though...some things just start picking up traction and never stop.  I've found that generally speaking, controversial things are most likely to hit the floor running.  Nobody is interested in what you ate for dinner, but they are interested in your views on different topics.  
• Be ready!  In the case that you have an overnight hit, you have to be relatively prepared.  By prepared, I don't mean having a strategy in place to continue your climb to fame.  I do mean, however, keeping your social platforms free of any derogatory or inappropriate content.  The internet keeps things forever, and you don't want a bad tweet from 2013 surfacing.
• This is the push you've been waiting for!  So now you've got a viral video.  Now what?  This is your chance to spring into action.  If you're looking to promote your business (or yourself) on a social platform, you've got to provide content while it's hot.  Take some time and develop quality and creative content following a viral post.  This can turn your one hit wonder into a career!
